いよいよ、物語が始まります。
記念すべき第一作目は、
“Awakening in the Dark”。
この作品は、
本編主人公「デザイラ」が、
まだ“デザイラ”になる前の時間を描いた物語です。
Requiem of Desire では、
人が心の奥に抱く「欲」をテーマにしています。
この世界――DARK SERAPH 2 における「欲」は、
物欲や食欲、地位や名声といった、
目に見えやすいものではありません。
それは、
「誰かを愛したい」
「誰かに愛されたい」
「受け入れたい」「受け入れられたい」
そんな、とても人間らしい想いです。
善でも悪でもなく、
正義でも堕落でもない。
ただ、
自分が自分でありたいと願う気持ち。
それこそが、この物語で描かれる「欲」です。
秩序に従うことが、
生きるために必要な場面もあります。
争わず、逆らわずにいるほうが、
楽に生きられることもあるでしょう。
けれど、
従わないという選択もまた、
この世界には確かに残されています。
それは決して、悪ではありません。
時には、とても優しい選択であることもあります。
デザイラは、
そんな迷いや選択を抱えながら、
これからの旅を歩んでいきます。
途中で敵と出会い、
仲間と出会い、
敵だと思っていた存在と、
少しずつ心を通わせることもあるでしょう。
誤解やすれ違いに満ちたこの世界で、
デザイラがどのように自分を見失わずに進んでいくのか。

The first chapter is titled “Awakening in the Dark.”
This work tells the story of Desira
before she truly becomes “Desira.”
In Requiem of Desire,
we explore the theme of “desire” that lives quietly within people.
In the world of DARK SERAPH 2,
“desire” does not mean simple urges such as material wants, hunger, status, or fame.
It refers to feelings like
wanting to love,
wanting to be loved,
wanting to accept others,
and wanting to be accepted.
These feelings are neither good nor evil,
neither justice nor corruption.
They are simply
the wish to remain true to oneself.
In a world governed by order,
or shaped by harsh struggles for survival,
following the rules can sometimes feel easier.
Yet choosing not to follow
is also a path that still exists.
Not following does not mean being evil.
At times, it can even be an act of quiet kindness.
Desira walks this uncertain path,
carrying doubt, choice, and longing within her.
Along the way, she will meet enemies and companions,
and may even come to understand those she once believed were foes.
In a world filled with misunderstanding,
how will Desira remain true to herself?
